The Quiet Rich
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 September 2026
I’ll be as plain here as I am everywhere else. This explains exactly what is collected, why, and how to make us forget you whenever you wish.
1. Who we are
“The Quiet Rich” publishes the books written under the literary persona Vivi Sterling. The data controller is the individual operating this site, contactable at the address below. Every privacy request goes to the same place.
- Trader
- The Quiet Rich (sole trader, Israel). “Vivi Sterling” is a pen name, not the trader’s legal name.
- Email — the fastest route for anything on this page
- auntieviv1952@gmail.com
- Web form
- Contact page
- Response time
- Within 14 days of receipt, and sooner where the law requires it.
2. What we collect
- What you type into the contact form — your name, email address, the subject line, and your message.
- What you type into the review form — your name, city, email address, star rating, and review text.
- Payment and billing data — collected and processed by Whop, the checkout provider, not by us. We never see or store your card number. We receive limited order details such as your email address, country, and an order ID.
- Basic technical data your browser sends to our host in the ordinary course of serving a page, including your IP address, and your device and browser type.
- Aggregate visit counts, with no identifier attached — see section 9.
There is no mailing list and no newsletter. We do not run one, and nothing on this site subscribes you to anything.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To answer your message and handle refund and privacy requests — to perform our contract with you, or on our legitimate interest in replying to people who write to us (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f)).
- To publish a review you sent us, with your first name, last initial and city — only on the basis of your consent, given by ticking the box on that form (Art. 6(1)(a)). If you do not tick it, we do not publish it.
- To check a review against an order so it can be marked as a verified purchase — our legitimate interest in not publishing reviews from people who never bought the book (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To deliver a book you bought and provide support — to perform our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To keep the site available and secure — our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
- To count how many people visit each page, in aggregate and without any identifier — our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site is read (Art. 6(1)(f)). You may object at any time (section 8); the Cookie Policy sets out exactly what is sent.
4. Who processes your data
- Netlify, Inc. — hosts this site and receives your IP address whenever you load a page. Netlify also stores contact-form and review-form submissions on our behalf. Netlify Privacy.
- Whop, Inc. — hosts the checkout, processes payment, and delivers the digital files. Whop Privacy.
- GoatCounter — receives one request per page view and stores daily totals only: no IP address, no cookie, no identifier. GoatCounter Privacy.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever. We do not use advertising trackers, and nothing on this site follows you to other websites.
5. International transfers
Our host and our checkout provider are established in the United States, so your data may be processed outside the UK, the EEA and Israel. Those transfers rely on the safeguards set out in each provider’s own data-processing terms, which for these providers are the Standard Contractual Clauses (and, for UK data, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum).
We do not claim any provider participates in the EU–US or UK Data Privacy Framework unless that provider is actually listed on the Data Privacy Framework list. If you want to know the current basis for a specific provider, write to us and we will tell you what we have.
6. How long we keep it
Contact-form and review-form submissions are kept for as long as needed to deal with the matter, and then deleted. Order records are held by Whop as the checkout provider for as long as the law requires. We do not keep data “forever” for its own sake, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
7. Your rights
Under the UK and EU GDPR you may ask us to: access your data, correct it, erase it (“the right to be forgotten”), restrict or object to its use, and port it elsewhere. Where we rely on your consent you may withdraw it at any time, and withdrawing it does not affect anything done before you did. Write to auntieviv1952@gmail.com or use the contact page.
If you are in Israel. Under the Protection of Privacy Law 5741-1981 you have the right to inspect the personal data we hold about you (s.13) and to request its correction (s.14). Write to the same address. You may also complain to the Israeli Privacy Protection Authority.
8. The right to complain
If you believe we have mishandled your data you can complain to your supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in the EU, your national data-protection authority; in Israel, the Privacy Protection Authority. You are welcome to raise it with us first, but you do not have to.
9. Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising trackers. For analytics it stores nothing on your device and reads nothing from it.
Page views are counted by GoatCounter from a single request the page sends when it loads, and from a handful of reading events (scroll depth, opening the sample, clicking through to the checkout). No analytics script is loaded, no identifier is created, and only daily totals are kept. The full detail — exactly what each request carries and why no consent banner is shown — is on the Cookie Policy page.
10. Automated decisions
We do not make automated decisions or profile you in any way that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
11. Children
This site and these books are intended for adults. They are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
12. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you live in California: the personal information we collect is limited to identifiers (your name, email address, city) and internet activity, used only for the purposes in section 3. You have the right to know, access, and delete your information, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of it. We do not sell or share your personal information. To exercise any right, write to auntieviv1952@gmail.com.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will post the new version here with an updated date. We review it at least once a year.
14. Contact
Questions, or want your data removed? Write to auntieviv1952@gmail.com, or use the contact page.
